General sketchbook work, 2021-22

A comic inspired by the art and aesthetics of WW1, and modern accounts.

Cluster bombs, a category of weapon, pollute war zones long after a conflict has subsided, indiscriminately harming for generations. With the usage of antiwar pamphlets disseminated in newspapers like bomblets in cluster bombs, I encourage readers to plant seeds, not bombs, to prevent future victims of this weapon.
Ultimately a conceptual piece, I felt invigorated while responding to breaking news from the Russo-Ukrainian Conflict. The potency of the political issue and the timeliness of the work offered encouragement.

Book covers offer interesting design challenges. I have worked with one author on designs for two of his books, and have made mock covers as a form of style exploration.
